I started off helping one Dad / executive get into the best shape of their lives as a fun & cool experiment to ward off depression.
And I got hooked.
Fast forward 8 (non-linear) years and I’ve worked with numerous tech CEOs & executives, hundreds of regular and not-so-regular exercisers, several top tech companies, and taught over 1,500 hours of group exercise classes, ranging from:
- beach bootcamps
- corporate bootcamps
- F45 classes
- football coaching & conditioning
- company running clubs
My training has been based around long distant running (marathons & ultramarathons up to 100km), Crossfit, F45, HiiT, Olympic weightlifting, football (or soccer for the proles at the back) conditioning and everything in between.
I’ve now landed at a hybrid type of training combining weights & short bursts of cardio that gives me the best ROI on my investment time whilst minimising the risk of injury.
It’s this training philosophy that informs all of my own workouts and those that I teach – it’s efficient & highly effective.
"At Tank Stream Labs, we believe in fostering a supportive and resilient community, and Ben Ford embodies these values in everything he does with Super Fit Dad. Ben’s commitment to health, fitness, and empowering people to lead active lifestyles is inspiring. The corporate bootcamps he has run for us have been invaluable, promoting health, wellness, and teamwork among our members, and demonstrating how physical fitness can enhance professional performance and collaboration." Bradley Delamare - CEO, Tank Stream Labs
“I have been training with Ben for 4 years now. My fitness has improved immensely and my love of exercise has grown. His knowledge of different exercises are extensive which keeps the sessions fun and interesting. No session is the same and he tailors each to suit my energy levels and mood, which for a woman in her mid forties is important. If you want to see results quickly and be the best version of yourself, I highly recommend you reach out to Ben.” Kelly Pearce, Accenture
"Ben has been training the Stockspot team for many years, always bringing great energy and expertise. Each session is unique and he comes well-prepared to tailor the workouts to our team’s diverse fitness levels. Two of our favourites have been his Tabata workouts and animal movement bootcamps. If you're looking for an outstanding personal trainer, whether for your corporate team or individually, I highly recommend Ben." Chris Brycki - CEO, Stockspot
"The multi-talented Ben is very passionate about physical health! I've known him for 7 years through work but only recently had him run a fitness workshop during our conference. This was really well received by the attendees who got to add fitness into their busy day of meetings. The diversity of attendees and that they turned up for multiple days is testament to his work and how he continues to make exercises fun and interesting." Rehan D'Almeida - CEO Fintech Australia
I work with business founders, CEOs and Corporate Execs to get them into the best shape of their lives, usually when they are that bit older and find it increasingly harde to do so.
Working ‘smart not hard’ and using the training methods, bio-hacks and data-driven approach to losing weight & building muscle that I’ve honed over the past 8 years as a personal trainer and the past 20 years as an amateur athlete, we focus on overall health as well as the good stuff – like looking better naked (might as well be honest about one of these reasons we train).
Run-Clubs used to be called Running Groups back in my day. When the goal was improving at running, not clogging up the coastal paths around Coogee and Bondi on some pseudo-exercise, speed-dating caper.
I’ve trained myself and various companies for various events: JP Morgan Challenge, City 2 Surf, marathons, ultramarathons, and have a bunch a favoured routes around the Sydney CBD taking in hills, stairs, sprints and longer intervals.
All run classes start & finish together, the only difference being the length of an effort / interval or the number of stairs reps – these classes are great for team-building and getting fit.
My running back ground includes:
- 10 x marathons including New York, San Francisco (x2 including once with zero training – read about that here), London, Sydney, various trail marathons
- Ultramarathons: 6 Foot Track, Centennial Park 100km, Centennial Park 50km
- City 2 Surf – pb 55:35
- ‘3 marathons in 3 weeks’ – 1 road, 1 trail, 1 ultra
I’m mostly retied from long running these days but do like to run a handful of shorter trail races each year.
Great as a team activity, these can be taken all over the city (unless there are rangers about who might move us along). Typically done close to Sydney Botanic Gardens, Barangaroo or beach-side in the Eastern suburbs, classes are suitable for a range of abilities.
HiiT-style classes using bodyweight and sometimes toys like dumbbells, kettlebells and Revo Bars make for a varied and supremely effective workout to keep the body guessing.
