The third F in my ‘Fitness, Fatherhood, Fintech’ trple-threat is ‘Fintech,’ the point at which technology is infused into Financial Services to disrupt a previously closed & expensive system that made it harder for everyday punters, like you and I, to make progress in our financial lives.

My mind was immediately blown by the idea that a new & easy-to-use finance app could make it way less complex & way more affordable for people to:

• invest their money in funds / ways that would usually require a $10,000 minimum investment – thanks Stockspot & Raiz 

• have visibility of their entire financial position in a single dashboard – thanks Frollo

• set up a kids pocket money account with a debit card to teach the youngsters about money – thanks Spriggy

• invest in American shares from Australia (yep, never used to be a thing) – thanks Stake

• get a $200 wage-advance for emergencies in literally seconds (3 clicks on the app and the funds are in your account) – thanks BeforePay (formerly Cheq)
